Brazilian Alexander Doni joined Liverpool FC at
the end of 2010-11 season from Roma becoming the 2nd Brazilian stopper
to represent Liverpool after Diego Cavalieri.
Doni has over 150 appearances in Serie A which
will help him provide ample cover to Pepe Reina and be the 2nd
choice keeper at Liverpool.
Doni got his chance to make history when he
made his first appearance for Liverpool at Anfield against Aston Villa on 7th
April 2012, when Pepe Reina got a suspension. Doni, who was also supposed to
feature in an FA Cup semi-final match against Everton the coming weekend (14th
April 2012), but his debut ended prematurely when he found himself suspended
and conceded a penalty at Ewood Park on the 10th of April 2012,
thanks to a straight red and all his dreams about a FA Cup semi start quashed.
His third and final appearance for Liverpool in the 2011-12 season came in a
0-1 defeat to Fulham, being one of the few to impress on that night.
